The law firm of Storino, Ramello & Durkin was founded in 1987. The firm services a wide array of corporations and individuals and concentrates its practice in the areas of state and local government law. The firm’s practices include the areas of corporate law, eminent domain, zoning, taxation, real estate and civil litigation. The firm has extensive experience in the representation of local governments, including cities, villages, school districts, park districts, townships and various local commissions.

The firm serves as general corporation counsel to a number of local government clients, representing and advising them on everything from routine procedural matters to complex litigation. The firm’s attorneys are experienced in dealing with the matters affecting units of local government, including, but not limited to, local government practices and procedures, the drafting of ordinances and resolutions, administration and personnel issues, election law, preparation and review of contracts, land use and zoning, the acquisition of property, annexation, condemnation and eminent domain, tax incremental financing districts, public sector financing, municipal bond issues, civil rights defense and general liability issues.

 

In addition, the firm has expertise in the areas of labor and unemployment law and provides its local government clients with comprehensive legal services in these areas, including collective bargaining negotiations. The firm also has a government affairs practice and represents municipal clients before the Illinois General Assembly as well as state administrative agencies.

The firm also serves as special legal counsel to a number of additional villages, cities, districts and commissions, providing legal services in the areas listed above, including bond issues, real estate tax work and complex litigation. Additionally, the firm is retained as the prosecutor for several municipalities and handles the prosecution of local ordinance violations for these clients.

 

Current representative municipal clients include the Village of Brookfield, the City of Elmhurst, the Village of Elmwood Park, the Village of Forest Park, the Village of Glendale Heights, the Grand Prairie Water Commission, the City of Oakbrook Terrace, the Township of Proviso, the City of Rolling Meadows, the City of St. Charles, the Township of Schaumburg, the Township of Schaumburg Road District, the Village of Streamwood, Veterans Park District, the Village of Westchester and the Village of Willowbrook. 


The firm also performs special counsel work for the City of Berwyn, the Village of Bloomingdale, the Village of Elk Grove, the Village of Hanover Park, the Village of Rosemont, the Village of Schiller Park,  the Village of Vernon Hills, the Village of West Dundee, the City of Wood Dale, DuPage County Coroner’s Office, DuPage County Sheriff’s Office and the DuPage Water Commission.
