Adam R. Durkin’s practice includes municipal law and civil litigation, and he is primarily engaged in labor and employment law. Adam currently serves as the Village Attorney to the Village of Brookfield.  Adam’s experience in representing employers includes negotiating collective bargaining agreements; administering employee benefits, leave and other contract provisions; defending against grievances and unfair labor practice charges; litigating interest arbitrations; representing employers in union representation efforts; and drafting and advising on separation agreements.

Adam has represented employers in matters arising from federal and Illinois state employment laws. He has represented employers in court and before administrative agencies including the U.S. Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Illinois Labor Relations Board and the Illinois Department of Human Rights. 

Adam has created and updated personnel policies. Adam has conducted workplace training programs and has trained commissioners appointed to local boards of fire and police commissioners.

Adam received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. He is a graduate of the DePaul University College of Law.
